The True Blood author returns to gunslinger Lizbeth Rose—and the gritty and magical world of the fractured former United States…

“At first, I planned on no magic in her world, but I changed my mind as it evolved.”

Charlaine Harris is currently on a blog tour to celebrate the fifth installment in her Gunnie Rose series. She returns to the gritty and magical world of the fractured former United States first introduced in An Easy Death (2018) and most recently visited in The Serpent in Heaven (2022), where gunslinger Lizbeth Rose is swept up into a life of hidden magical abilities, powerful political rivals, and an unlikely found family to deliver the “intriguing” (Library Journal) next chapter in the USA Today bestselling series.

The newest novel in the series, All the Dead Shall Weep (Gunnie Rose book #5), picks up after the events of The Serpent in Heaven. Lizbeth and her younger half-sister Felicia have finally been reunited, along with Lizbeth’s husband Eli and his younger brother, Peter.

About the Gunnie Rose series

The Dark Tower meets True Blood in this gritty and wildly entertaining series featuring Gunnie Rose: a woman fighting unimaginable odds to keep her people alive after the disintegration of America—a surefire hit for fans of Outlander or Westworld from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Sookie Stackhouse series.

“It’s another venture in new territory for me,” Harris told Grimdark Magazine. “I guess the series is best defined as an Alternate History Western with a gunslinging heroine. She’s not bloodthirsty, but she’s upright and determined to do her job, which is protection. Lizbeth Rose is very young, and very independent. At first, I planned on no magic in her world, but I changed my mind as it evolved.”

About the book All the Dead Shall Weep (Gunnie Rose book #5)

When Eli and Peter receive a mysterious summons to return to the capitol, Felicia stays behind with Lizbeth, leaving all of them in danger. While Eli and Peter are out of the way, Lizbeth and Felicia face threats from both magical and military attacks.

Can all four survive?

Or will their enemies’ murderous plans finally come to fruition?
