Universal has people excited that Fraser and Weisz are coming back.

But can the next sequel respect the original Mummy trilogy—and also build something workable for the future?

So: It’s been announced that a fourth The Mummy movie is on the way—meaning the latest one from the Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz movies. (Not the other one.)

While the possibility is exciting—this video from Screen Rant looks over the questions the movie raises. And how they can give us the movie we all want:

“From scarab beetle body horror to practical desert sets,” Screen Rant claims, “the new Mummy movie needs tactile adventure and ensemble chemistry — not just callbacks. We also break down how expanding Egyptian mythology and introducing stronger Egyptian characters could modernize the story in a meaningful way.”
