When the New York Post talked with actor Anthony Head about his current Netflix series The Stranger (based on the Harlan Coben novel), the conversation couldn’t help but wind around to the topic of the in-development reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In the original 1997-2003 series Head portrayed Buffy’s Watcher, Rupert Giles.

Head told the New York Post he’d love to be a part of the show:

“Yes. I wouldn’t know what as, because Giles has aged a little bit,” he says. “Maybe I’m the head of the Watcher’s council now. But to be honest, of course I would. It was so formative.”

Based on the 1992 film, the television series starred Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy Summers, the latest “chosen one” in a long line of young women commissioned to kill vampires, demons, and other forces of darkness.
