Is ROBOT MONSTER the weirdest looking sci-fi movie ever?

This old movie comes back in a new 3-D edition and as a new graphic novel!

The 1953 sci-fi movie Robot Monster—AKA Monster from Mars—was an indie black-and-white 3D science fiction film, remembered in later decades as one of the “worst movies ever made.” Featuring an alien robot—um, a gorilla with a helmet?—its mission was to destroy humanity.

It killed all but the few survivors who had become immune to the death ray. The creature crosses with its leader when it becomes attracted to a human woman and refuses to harm her.

UPDATE: And now Robot Monster is being celebrated by an all-new collection of comics stories by several creators. Find out more here!

One of the films seen on Mystery Science Theater 3000, the original Robot Monster is frequently called a bad movie. Film historian Leonard Maltin wrote in his 2009 Movie Guide that Robot Monster was “embarrassingly, hilariously awful.”
