Japanese-British singer-songwriter, model, and actress Rina Sawayama is a pop artist who has collaborated with Elton John, Lady Gaga, and Charli XCX. She uses her music to send messages about the possibility of loving whoever you want or against racist prejudices.

“Frankenstein” was written by Sawayama, Lauren Aquilina, and Paul Epworth. In her interview with Numero, Sawayama said she took the horror side out of the Frankenstein story.
“Very prosaically, this track revolves around the idea of someone putting me back on my feet when I’m broken. I am in pieces, before being recomposed by a person who reassembles the parts. It is a very human and realistic experience, of reconstruction, of creating a new me.
